Master’s Admissions · 2027 Entry
We welcome applicants from electrical engineering, control science, communication engineering, computer networks, electronics, information security, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics and related interdisciplinary backgrounds.
Applicants with different strengths and interests are encouraged to apply. Hardware: experience with ARM/DSP, Linux, embedded software and hardware, electronics or robotics competitions, and engineering debugging. Systems modelling: broad systems thinking, strong mathematical optimisation skills and an ability to abstract and analyse complex systems. Network communication: enthusiasm for systems software, knowledge of low-level computing and network security, and strong programming skills. Mechanisms and processes: a solid physics foundation, interdisciplinary curiosity, experience in data mining or image analysis, and insight into complex data.
The laboratory recruits 3–4 PhD students each year. Our research integrates satellite internet with modern power systems, including satellite–terrestrial networks, communication–control coordination, complex-system optimisation, multi-source information fusion and large models, power information security and resilience under extreme disasters. Applicants should have a strong master’s-level research record, normally including a first-author publication in a high-quality venue, along with strong English writing and independent research skills. We particularly value the ability to formulate scientific questions, work across disciplines and conduct original research. Applicants with backgrounds in power, control, communications, AI, optimisation and information security are welcome.
We invite postdoctoral researchers working on grid resilience, disaster risk assessment, satellite–terrestrial power systems and physics-informed AI. We offer competitive remuneration and research support, and support applications for postdoctoral funding and talent programmes.
We welcome scholars from universities and research institutes worldwide for academic visits and collaborative research on power-system resilience, multi-source information fusion and related areas. Office facilities and necessary research support are provided during visits.
