On 15 September 2026, the team met Zhejiang Geespace Technology Co., Ltd. to discuss low Earth orbit satellite IoT technology, including power equipment monitoring, terminal integration and application-specific communication services. A live satellite short-message demonstration connected the company’s constellation and product capabilities with power-sector data transmission requirements, with a focus on small-packet communication in areas with limited public network coverage.
Geespace introduced its narrowband LEO IoT services, communication modules, industry terminals and supporting services. Both sides discussed integrated antenna and terminal design, battery space, data acquisition frequency and satellite visibility, considering how deployment constraints affect communication options and low-power terminal integration.
During the demonstration, terminals supporting different message capacities sent short messages through test software. The company also demonstrated satellite visibility windows and transmission status queries, illustrating the workflow from terminal transmission to platform data access.

The discussion proposed an end-to-end demonstration system grounded in practical power applications, including offshore wind, to illustrate communication and control workflows. The exchange informed further work on satellite IoT terminal integration and power-sector applications.
